Our Actions
Open Days at our School
Our school takes every opportunity to open its doors to the children’s parents so that we can spend time together and become a little bit of children again! The celebrations of mum and dad, the most important people in a child’s life, are a trigger for beautiful activities with imaginative gifts, wishes and treats as a sign of love. Dads, on the other hand, have the opportunity to spend the Father’s Day in an atmosphere of sports and entertainment! At Christmas, Easter, Halloween the halls open to welcome family and friends who will join us in making Easter cookies/buns, making candles, preparing love meals for the homeless. And all this always in a climate of love and cooperation!

summer camp
Every July, children aged 3.5 – 6 years old participate daily in summer recreational activities inside and outside the school. Swimming in the sea and in the swimming pool of our school yard, playing with our friends in playgrounds, programs in sports fields, amusement parks, theme parks, shooting for short films, etc.

Social Offer
Humanism is the greatest good of human life, which is why the “Lilospitos” incorporates it as an integral part of its educational programme. Our children are being prepared to become tomorrow’s citizens of society. Therefore, along with the development of their cognitive horizon, we care for the experiential cultivation of values that will form the foundation on which they will build sensitive and active citizens. Together every year, parents, children and teachers participate in the implementation of voluntary actions for various organisations that need support, making a beautiful act of love. Charity races, seasonal bazaar with children’s creations, collection of clothes, toys and food are some of our actions that have supported institutions such as the Social Grocery of the Municipality of Glyfada, SOS Children’s Villages, Pisti Association, Lyreio Foundation, Makeawish, Porta Open, Social Kitchen The Other Man. Sometimes, however, the presence of young children, a smile from them, a song they will give is enough…especially for the elderly. On every occasion we visit old people’s homes, nursing homes, C.A.P.H. and do actions together. There is no better feeling than giving to your fellow man and we do it generously at every opportunity!

Twice a year, theatre performances are held at our school with the participation of the children of the Kindergarten and the Nursery School in indoor and outdoor theatres. Spectacular sets and costumes, melodies that take us on a journey, age-appropriate choreography, a children’s choir led by our talented Music Educator and thoughtful adaptations of fairy tales by our theatre teacher related to the educational projects that have unfolded during the year, provide us with excellent collective works that bring us into contact with the art of children’s theatre. Scrooge, The 12 Labours of Santa Claus, The Witch Atacktoula and the Love Cookies, The Nutcracker, The Wild State, The Quilt, Greek Cinema, The Melody of Happiness, Donna the Teredonian, The Invisible, The Mermaid Elisha, etc. are some of the performances we have staged since 2014.

National Holidays
“Lilospitos” celebrates every year the National Anniversaries and participates in the student parades of the Municipality of Glyfada with the children of the Kindergarten (4-6 years old). There are also celebrations in honour of our heroes at school, with short dramatizations, poetry recitations, songs and presentations of historical events by teachers and children. The parade of our young students is never missing!

Children understand nature, become explorers with magnifying glasses, learn to distinguish trees, learn about roots, flowers and collect its treasures. They love and protect nature! They realise that it is their big house and learn to look after it and keep it clean.

The costumes are always made of recyclable materials with the participation of our children and with a theme inspired by our annual theme. The “Lilodiasistimoscosmos” managed with its float and imaginative costumes to win the first prize in the Municipality of Glyfada in 2018. Another special activity is the Red Night, where you will find us keeping your children creatively occupied!

Transition Program / Graduation of Children
The transition from kindergarten to primary school is a special, unique experience for every child. In our school we try in cooperation with Private Schools (Malliaras Schools, George Zoi Schools, Iordanakio) and Public Primary Schools, our toddlers get to know the Primary School and feel positive emotions for the next school level such as joy, anticipation, interest, enthusiasm. During our visits to the primary schools we observe the facilities, the courtyards and do joint activities and lessons with the first grade. Therefore, difficult emotions such as worry and anxiety are slowly overcome. So what we are left with at the end of the transition program is a sweet memory and anticipation for the new school year! But we never forget the last day of our graduation and the big celebration organized by “Lilospitos”..

Parents in the Classroom
On every occasion and with great enthusiasm, we welcome parents in the classroom to become part of the educational process through presentations and talks. They visit us to present their profession or some specialised knowledge they possess. Doctors, paediatric dentists, nutritionists, pilots and many other specialties come into the classroom and share their knowledge with our children.
