Kindergarten Educational Program

Greek Program

Children carry out daily activities aimed at cultivating basic skills such as social, cognitive, emotional, language and mathematical skills. Play is at the centre of a child’s learning and development. Symbolic, mimetic, theatrical, musical and kinesthetic, construction, rules game, teamwork, etc. are part of the daily program.

English Language Programme

Children learn by playing with the language of English and see how easily the letter becomes a word, the word becomes a sentence and we become English learners! The children enrich their vocabulary in English, as they come into daily contact with songs, short stories, card games, experiential music and movement games related to the topics they discuss in class with their Greek teacher (thematic units, projects, skills workshops). We want to create positive associations with learning and languages so that children continue to be motivated as they grow up.

Expression through the Arts

The arts are a basic way of expression for preschool children, which is why their program includes daily activities of movement, dance, music, visual arts and drama.

Lending Library

At Lilo Library fairy tales and stories come to life. With the lending library programme, children cultivate literacy and responsibility.

Cooking Experiences

Children discover the wonderful world of cooking through their senses. They sniff, curiosity, calculate their quantities, shape, knead, cook and taste the food they make. As a result of all the processes needed to prepare their food, children learn to appreciate each individual ingredient, learn to try new foods and learn to choose a healthy diet for their daily lives.

Excursions in Nature

Children visit forests, parks, wetlands and seas, with the aim of learning to appreciate nature and enjoy its benefits.

Educational visits

Museums, Theatrical performances, Cultural Exhibitions, Art and Expression Spaces, where learning is approached in an experiential way.

Recreational Excursions

Playgrounds, playgrounds, water slides.

Technology

Children are familiarising themselves with technology every day. Through our school’s equipment, which includes interactive whiteboards, projectors, tablets, computers, cameras, technology becomes a tool in the hands of children for research and discovery.

Gardening

The children cultivate and care for the school bush in season. They choose and know the herbs of our garden.

09:30 – 10:00 Hygiene rules (hand washing)/ Breakfast.
10:00 – 13:30
  • Launch of Organised Activities and Investigations based on the Integrated Curriculum(ICPD).
  • Completion of the Organised Activities and Feedback.
  • Break in the garden.
  • Activity of Specialities(Music, English, Music and Movement Education, Drama).
  • Optional Activity(Swimming, Kids Gym, Ballet, Tae Kwon Do, Robotics).
13:30 – 14:00 Hygiene rules (hand washing)/ Lunch
14:00 – 15:00
  • English hour through the interactive whiteboard or through Flash Cards or English Fairy Tales or Greek Fairy Tales Literacy hour.
  • Once (1) a week Mrs Vicky Panagopoulou (special education teacher and pedagogue will conduct a learning session for the preschooler, and twice (2) a week for the toddler, through language, phonological, logical-mathematical thinking and emotional readiness games).
15:00 – 15:30 Relaxation time (through readings of fairy tales or narrations, or educational videos on the interactive, myths from our tradition and history, as well as modern animations keep us company for a while). Sleep does not take place.
15:30 – 16:00 Organized Activity (painting, plastic arts, individual crafts, group constructions/projects).
16:00 – 16:15 Afternoon Lunch.
16:15 – 17:00
  • Creative actions with educational puzzles, board games, musical-moving
  • Optional Activity(Theatrical Workshop “Little Actors, Artistic Workshop).
